Hi Meghan,

This is a very good question. LSE, Cambridge, Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge are all committed to improving diversity and inclusion and have been listed by QS World University Rankings as the top providers for education in the social sciences. It is true, however, that there are many other colleges, universities and liberal arts schools that offer an equally high standard of education, as well as positive experiences that may not or cannot be listed in rankings. Your question has really got us thinking. We want people to learn and thrive, and you've hit the nail on the head - there is no set path. Thank you!

My question is why -- after all these great, affirming suggestions and experiences -- you would recommend people try to go study at LSE, Stanford, Oxford, or Cambridge! Perpetuating the myth of prestige and rigor that these places thrive on is a disservice to students reading this page, as well as to the hard-working social science professors at everything ranging from community colleges to state universities and liberal arts schools.
